Let’s play Castlevania: Harmony of Despair.

…someday. I want to make it happen.

The ideal situation would be to get all the levels recorded with a group of five or six people. Recording from the 360 is no problem, and I’m pretty sure I’ve worked out the logistics of grabbing the audio from party chat. And there’s no doubt the series would be entertaining; Harmony is fun to play and fun to watch, and there’s a huge variety of stuff to talk about.

That said, there are still some speed bumps that’d have to be worked around. For example, in the ideal case we’d have at least one of each character in the group, enabling us to show off the widest possible variety of playstyles and movesets. This is made difficult by the fact that I know three Shanoa players, two Somas and zero Jonathans.

There’s also the small matter of how difficult it is to get a group of people together for one online activity, even for a couple hours. Oh, and… uh… we still haven’t beat all the levels yet.

Still, it’s a project I’d like to put together at some point… perhaps once the character DLC finally hits. (We could solve the “zero Jonathans” problem by just not making any room for his stank ass on the team.) In the meantime I’ve got green triangles to absorb from some faux-Egyptian god-thing.

If I can get my younger brother to finally get off of his lazy ass and finally ship my 360 to me from Florida then I volunteer to be, uh, stank ass Jonathan.

I’d totally be up for this, and I’d even bite the Jonathan bullet since it’s my hope to one day have all the characters, if not maxed out, at least reasonably well-played. Maybe I’ll take him out for a spin this week.

I’m not sure if you were counting me in your list, but I’ve switched characters. So now you know 2 Shanoas and 3 Somas. Much better, right?

I have actually started playing Jonathan! Unfortunately I can’t really stand the game too much on single-player so he is woefully underskilled.

I dunno how he’s adapted to Harmony of Despair, but I’ll probably play as Jonathan whenever I go 360. He was at least the better option by Portrait of Ruin standards; Charlotte’s spell absorbing for magic collection and stat boosting was an HoD addition, if I’m not mistaken.

Charlotte got screwed in PoR. She only got a few books compared to Jonathan’s massive arsenal, her spells were mainly situational and sucked up MP, and she was less mobile. She had use in boss fights (particularly the man-charming lady), but her MP would get sucked up quickly if you tried the spellcasting route against regular mooks.
