Three Dissimilar Things

Dissimilar Thing the First: It took twenty minutes to drive to Tampa this afternoon, and an additional thirty to fight traffic long enough to park. Seeing the Trans-Siberian Orchestra in concert was almost worth the unbelievable aggravation and hassle that comes along with inching through a sea of inconsiderate assholes in SUVs.

Anyway, it was a hell of a show. At the end the lead singer from Cheap Trick came out and performed a couple old songs I don’t really have strong feelings about. What impressed me was that Peanut and I were sitting in front of the world’s foremost #1 Cheap Trick superfan. This dude was way into it. He really wanted you to want him, if you know what I mean.

I wonder if, fifty years from now, TSO songs like Wizards in Winter will be as quintessential to the holiday experience as, say, Bing Crosby.

Dissimilar Thing the Second: If you Google “Candle Cove” you will find some pretty creepy stuff. Heebie jeebies all up in this bitch.

Dissimilar Thing the Third:

Why is this a real thing!?

My favourite Candle Cove-related thing are the people who uploaded episodes to YouTube that are all static.

But you’re right that’s actually pretty creepy.

I’ve seen TSO concerts twice now… they are pretty incredible. I’ll probably do it again someday, but I’m going to wait a few years. I guess two years in a row wasn’t the best way to do it? As great as they were, it was essentially the same concert both times.
