Totalling up all the various projects I’m working on right now, including this blog and my weekly video, I’m having to spend at least three or four hours a day writing just to stay on top of everything. It feels really good to be so productive, but it’ll feel better if I can ever manage to turn any of it into a real source of revenue.
It’s wreaked havoc on my sleep schedule, though. I just naturally work better at night, and once I get started on something I tend to work single-mindedly on it for hours. The result is I’ll sit down at 9pm to do some writing and, before I know it, it’s 4am and I’ve had six cans of Pepsi. Then I sleep till noon the next day and do it all over again.
The really insane thing is that exactly none of what I’m working on is fiction. I always just figured that if I were to ever make writing a major part of my daily routine it’d be because I was working on a novel or something, you know? Maybe I’ll see about working something like that in.
