5000+

Against all odds, I managed to get over 5000 words written last night. If I can be equally productive tonight I will be within grasping distance of the 50,000 word goal. But then, my motto’s always been, “if you’re gonna cut it… cut it close.”

I don’t actually know what that means. I started saying it in my LPs and it just kind of stuck.

It’s going to be a remarkable test of willpower, considering Netflix sent me Hellboy: The Golden Army and a mysterious benefactor sent me a copy of Yggdra Union for PSP. I’m dying to try both. I’m wondering if I should leave the PSP and DVD player at home, just to be safe, or whether I am a bad enough dude to resist the president. I mean temptation.

In any case, this should be the last Sunday I skip out on my Gaming Heroines series. Kind of a massively chump move, postponing the very last entry for so long, but that’s how things shake out sometimes. Next year I’ll make sure my slate is totally clean, come November, so as not to run into this problem again.

“Hey Brickroad! Don’t you still play video games?”

Nope! Not really. Rock Band 3 drained my gaming budget for the rest of the year. It’s pretty crazy, though, that if I had $150 to run out and spend on games, I’d spend it on a bunch of Wii games. Did you guys hear that Sonic Colors is apparently really good? Or that Donkey Kong Country Returns is the second coming of Christbuddha? Or that Kirby Epic Yarn is the most stunningly adorable game to come out for any system, ever?

My Wii just sits there, most of the time, dying for something good to go inside it. Now, all of a sudden, it’s in a position to make my other consoles jealous. Funny how the world works!
