A few meandering thoughts…

Hmm… these past few updates have gone up pretty late, haven’t they? I need to keep an eye on that. I’m closing in on one full year of daily updates; I wouldn’t want to miss one coming into the home stretch.

Peanut found us a case of Heritage Dr. Pepper. I haven’t tried it yet, but I’m sure it’s delicious. I hope this becomes something of a soda trend, where at any given time there’s some manner of suger-sweetened soda available. I… I can’t go back to HCFS. I just… can’t.

I’ve been contemplating the tribes for this upcoming Survivor season and I don’t think the Villains will ever win a single anything. The Heroes have Rupert and Tom and JT and James and Colby. That’s some of the most impressive immunity streaks in the series all packed up in one spot. Two of these guys can catch fish with their eyes closed by standing on the beach and shouting. Hell, Tom more or less destroyed an entire tribe by himself. They’ll either have to mix the tribes up on Day 5 to give the Villains a fighting chance, or hope the Heroes develop some pretty wicked infighting and crumble in on themselves.

  • You know that places like Costco, Sam’s Club and your upper crust of Grocery Stores sell soda imported from Mexico? All of which is sweetened with cane sugar, right?

Yeah, I’ve never seen Mexican soda at Costco or Sam’s either. I’ve seen some fruity stuff at the grocery store, and the mango flavor is tasty once in a while, but I’m more of a cola kind of guy.

My Costco in Massachusetts certainly doesn’t.

If I need a cane sugar soda fix and throwback isn’t avialable I can get Boylan Bottleworks at a store down my street. It’s not exactly cheap compared to throwback but it is delicious.

There is also always Jones soda.

    High Corn Fructose Syrup?

I wonder if there’s going to be some way to compensate for the clear immunity advantage the Heroes have? Some sort of advantage only available to the Villains, something to encourage them to play sneaky rather than straightforward — because with a line-up like that on the Heroes side, you could very easily have the luxury of not needing to backstab until very late in the game, if at all.
