There are a hundred thousand LPs of Symphony of the Night floating around, but I couldn’t find one where someone plays the PSP version as Maria Renard. So I made one myself.
This game clocks in a little over two hours. Since Maria is a bonus character she doesn’t really have a goal the way the main game does, so I defined my goal as “killing all the bosses”.
Yes, even that one boss. You know the one.
I had to do a lot of fiddling with video quality on this one. It was an uphill fight against two issues. First, recording through composite cables is far from ideal. And second, the PSP’s connected display functionality outputs this incredibly tiny viewing window. I could resize it however I wanted on my screen, but obviously the bigger I made it the blurrier it got.
I knew I was never going to get it perfect. As soon as I could make out the damage numbers, I called it good enough. I wouldn’t recommend watching this series full-screen, though.
I actually watched it fullscreen on 1280×1040 and it wasn’t that bad, actually. It wasn’t crisp as a button(…what the hell does that even mean), but it was viewable without inducing a headache. Your Mileage May Vary, of course.
Yeah, fullscreen looked decent for me as well. The damage numbers were hard to make out, but that isn’t really a concern for anybody but the LPer. The actual game looked fine.

So maria went from gamebreakingly powerful to this? You’d think upgrading from doves to owls would be better.
Dude. Alucard shield.
DUDE.
