Have you played the DS versions of both? I’d like to see the one where you could do the most comparisons to remakes.
Did DQIV have a remake between the original and DS version?
It kind of did. There was a remake of Dragon Quest IV on the PSX, following the release of VII. Hell, the North American booklet for Dragon Quest/Warrior VII had an ad for a North American release of the remake of IV which never came about thanks to some studio shutting down or whatever it was.
The DS port of IV is basically the same as the PSX port, with whatever needed to be tweaked to be put on the DS, it even had the same extra chapter.
I’d have to vote for DQIV since I know FFIV so well already… but either would be win, I’m sure.
