Seriously, this Etrian Odyssey project is gigantic.

I took a trip out to the site of the Etrian excavation on our Minecraft server, just to get a sense of how immense the project actually was. Step one is digging all the material out of the boundaries of the maze using picks, TNT and huge amounts of manpower. I got up on a vantage point at the edge of the site and snapped this shot:

That raised wooden platform in the middle is covered in chests containing the stone and dirt removed from the site. The sheer amount of exposed iron laying around down there makes me wish I had brought my pick with me!

Why do you still play Castlevanian? Also, how come you still have a job? Or a life, for that matter? Every resource you have should be put into helping this project, then staring at it for hours on end, or at least until you realize you could just play THE REAL DAMN ETRAIN ODYSSEY!!!!!!!!

My GOD I can’t wait to play this game. I’d love to see your server sometime too if that’s okay – your map leaves a lot to be desired.

Mining out all the stone and dirt takes a lot of effort, but that’s really the easy part – anyone can drop in, hack off some stone and log out. The real work starts when the construction begins. That’s when people will need to start working together according to a plan, on a massive scale. I’m a little scared of what will become of that.

Hells, Brick, you just sold me on the game. Now I need to learn what I’m doing…

Too bad the original Etrian Odyssey pales in comparison to EO3.
